Its been well

the 25th race
will be a mares
only hurdle,
conditions yet
to be decided. I
think the
addition of this
race is a good
idea, but it
should be a
handicap and
given only
Listed status.
I think it
should be run as
the 6th and
final race on
the Thursday.
The Pertemps
should be moved
to the opening
race of the
Thursday. The
Jewson should be
slotted between
the Grand Annual
and the County
Hurdle (in the
former Cathcart
slot) making the
Friday the 7
race card.
i really fancied
Amaretto Rose in
the first and at
3 out he looked
all over them so
that was a loser
for £200
Then in the
second i had
Twist Magic,
which would have
get very close
to MWDS £150 EW
In the 3rd i
already had a
massive ante
post bet on Macs
Joy that went
down the pan
(£400EW at 11s),
so just had £100
on
Hardy....which
lost !
Then my biggest
disaster came in
the fourth where
i had one of my
biggest bets
ever (£450EW on
Juveignuer at
9s) and im still
convinced to
this day it won.
I think you
could actually
hear the sound
of my heart
break as the
winner was
announced. You
don't mind
getting beaten
by a 5, 10, 16/1
shot, but to get
beaten by a 50/1
was sickening.
They could add a
Mares Bumper.
Plus they could
steal the 2M4F
novice handicap
hurdle which is
run at Sandown a
few days earlier
and steal the
Midlands
National and
call it the
Gloucestershire
National. Thus
giving the
Festival four 7
card days.
friday i
consider to be
the worst day of
the 4,although
in recent years
i could quite
easily leave
after the 3rd on
the tuesday,
like most people
nowadays i think
wednesday is the
best day, there
is a strong
finish to the
day with the
bumper always a
great race to
watch, regarding
the tuesday
again the first
3 races on the
card generally
give you an
indication on
how you are
going to end up
on the week it
did use to be my
favourite day
but since the
inception of
Ive put to much
pressure on
myself with the
anti post books
to really enjoy
the day......."
