Brescia v AC Milan
"One of this week's Italian Serie-A
highlights will be the match between Brescia and AC Milan at Rigamonti
Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Former Milan and Italy international
Roberto Baggio will lead his team's attack as they prepare for
the European champion's visit. Baggio won the Scudetto with Milan
during the 1996 season but this time the 'Divine Ponytail' will
have to dig deep into his sleeves in order to stop Milan from
going away with three points. Baggio-inspired Brescia come into
this match with a five match unbeaten run. However, Baggio have
confirmed that he will hang up his boots at the end of the season
but before the big day arrives, he will be playing 100% for Brescia.
Baggio was rated doubtful for the clash against Lazio last week
with a muscular injury but he did made the starting line-up in
the match that they won 1-0. That was the first time in 35 years
that Brescia have beaten the capital club. Gigi Di Biagio, who
scored the winning goal at Olimpico Stadium will be unavailable
due to suspension and his suitable replacement would be Martinez.
Baggio will most likely partner Andrea Caracciolo upfront after
Gianni De Biasi was impressed with his performances. Meanwhile,
AC Milan will need to win this difficult encounter against Brescia
should they intend to have the chance to catch AS Roma at the
top of Serie-A table. The Rossoneri still remeber how they lost
to Udinese at San Siro recently and Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti
will be doing some reshuffling prior to the match. Ancelotti will
begrateful to know that Alessandro Nesta is finally available
after being sidelined for more than a month with knee problems.
Ancelotti also looks set to leave out Massimo Ambrosetti and Danish
international Jon Dahl Tomasson although both of them scored against
AS Roma during their midweek Coppa Italia fixture. Brazilian wonderkid
Kaka will play alongside Ukrainian international Andriv Shevchenko
in the continued absence of main striker Filipo Inzaghi. With
Kaka playing upfront, Milan's midfield quartet will consists of
Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo, Clarence Seerdorf and Manuel Rui
Costa. Last season's corresponding fixture saw Brescia defeating
the European champions 1-0. In fact, Brescia have not lose to
Milan at Rigamonti Stadium since 1995-96 season. This match looks
set to end up in a low scoring draw and don't be surprise if the
home team could pull off a late win over Milan. "
