Chievo vs Brescia
Gianni De Biasi's Brescia have the chance to catch
up Chievo when they visit Bentegodi Stadium on Sunday afternoon
and take advantage of Chievo's poor home form. However, De Biasi
faces some midfield selection after he sold Antonio Filippini
to Serie-B high-flyers Palermo. Antonio, alongsied twin brother
Emanuele was sold for the combined total of 2 million Euros in
order to boost the club's struggling financial status. With the
absence of Filippini brothers, The Rondinelle will have to rely
more on veteran Luigi Di Biagio and Roberto Baggio. On the contrast,
Chievo have managed to secure the services of Brazilian defender
Cesar from Fluminese. Cesar becomes the fourth South American
to join the Verona club alongside compatriots Amauri and Luciano
plus Argentinian winger Mario Santana. Left wing back Cesar is
unlikely to make his debut for Chievo on Sunday although regular
left back Salvatore Lanna is suspended. Instead, Marco Malago
will replace Lanna who is serving his suspension after picking
up a booking during last week's defeat at Bologna. Brescia will
look forward to bounce back after their narrow defeat at the hands
of Ac Milan which ended their five match unbeaten run. It will
require an upturn in Chievo's fortune to get the better of Brescia's
solid defence and this match looks likely to settle for a draw.
Furthermore, Brescia managed to remain unbeaten in their last
two visits to Bentegodi Stadium.
